At SPRSI, we offer two different options for lipo in Memphis — in office liposuction while awake, and liposuction in the operating room under general anesthesia.  In office liposuction is best for patients with small areas of concern that can be addressed without the use of intravenous medication.  Patients may choose to take an oral pain pill and/or something to help them relax, but they will be awake for the procedure.  Otherwise, Dr. Brought will likely recommend the procedure be performed under general anesthesia in the operating room for more extensive procedures or for those who prefer to be asleep for any invasive procedure.
